Security Guard - Job Description

How it works:

As a Security Guard at Accura FM, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients' facilities against potential threats and unauthorized access. Your primary responsibilities will include patrolling designated areas, monitoring surveillance systems, and enforcing security procedures to mitigate risks effectively. With your keen observation skills and quick response to incidents, you will contribute to creating a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders.

In addition to base pay, paid for the time you work, you'll also have open ended opportunity to earn bonuses.

You will accrue paid  annual leave based on each hour worked at a full time equivalent rate of 28 days per year.

Typical tasks:

  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to detect and deter suspicious activity.

  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify security breaches or potential threats.

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, taking appropriate action as necessary.

  • Enforce access control procedures to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.

  • Conduct security screenings of visitors, vehicles, and packages entering the facility.

  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of security-related activities, including incidents and patrols.

  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, visitors, and clients, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of security protocols and procedures.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance security knowledge and skills.

About you: 

  • Previous experience in a security-related role is preferred, but not required.

  • Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license is mandatory.

  • Excellent observation and surveillance skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

  • Basic knowledge of security systems and procedures.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Prior military or law enforcement experience is advantageous but not essential.
